Rodney Tafoya is the author of two published books that capture his passion for baseball and the experiences that have shaped his journey. At 62, Rodney Tafoya’s story is still being written. From decades of competition and championship achievements to his work as an executive, author, and mentor, his journey continues to demonstrate that passion, preparation, and perseverance can carry a person far beyond the years others may expect.
The Ageless Arm isn’t simply a name. It’s a reflection of a life lived with purpose, discipline, and an enduring love for the game.
THE MAN BEHIND THE STORY
More Than a Baseball Story
Rodney Tafoya has spent much of his life competing, leading and pushing forward.
Baseball was never simply a game to Rodney. It became part of his identity—a place where discipline, preparation, failure, perseverance and passion came together. As a left-handed pitcher, he built a remarkable amateur career while continuing to pursue his professional life away from the field.
His journey eventually took him beyond baseball and into the banking world, where he built a successful career spanning decades. But the greatest test of his resilience came in February 2022, when Rodney suffered a near-fatal hemorrhagic stroke.
What followed was a different kind of competition.
Recovery demanded patience, discipline and the willingness to fight through days when progress was measured in small victories. Through therapy, mindfulness, faith, determination and the support of those around him, Rodney continued moving forward.
That experience changed the way he looked at life, purpose and the idea of an “ageless” passion.
Today, Rodney continues to write, speak, share his experiences and pursue new goals.
His story is not simply about how long an arm can throw a baseball.
It is about what happens when passion survives adversity.
And it is about discovering that the next chapter can still be worth fighting for.
